Benefits to School Districts and Students
Protecting Families from Unexpected Costs
Student accident insurance helps cover medical expenses that families may not be able to afford, especially if they lack adequate health insurance or have high deductibles. The Texas Kids First insurance plans provide up to $30,000 for base coverage and $10 million for catastrophic events.
No-Balance Bill Network
Texas Kids First has developed a network of over 3,000 medical providers and hospitals across the state committed to the well-being of Texas school children. The network covers the entire state, offering the opportunity to receive care from nearby, in-network providers and facilities.
$30,000 Limit Base Plans
Competing base plans offer $25,000 limits. Catastrophic insurance plans have a $25,000 deductible. Because of scheduled benefit limits, the base plan rarely pays out enough to meet the catastrophic deductible. Texas Kids First alone has raised its standard base insurance plans to a $30,000 limit to address this issue.
