FAQ
QUESTION: Is this an RFP to be the awarded or preferred vendor for TASB members/districts that would purchase student accident insurance through this cooperative?
Yes.
QUESTION: How many different school districts in Texas does the TASB Benefits Cooperative currently work with?
Currently, we work with about 30 school districts, but this should be considered a prospecting tool.
QUESTION: What lines does the TASB Benefits Cooperative currently provide to school districts in Texas?
Major medical, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), and all of the standard group voluntary lines (dental, vision, life, worksite, etc.)
QUESTION: Does TASB Benefits Cooperative currently have insurance and athletic accident programs in Texas?
No.
QUESTION: If we are chosen as an approved vendor, how would this help us navigate the RFP process in Texas for the K-12 student athletic accident coverage?
If awarded, you would be a procured, awarded vendor of the TASB Benefits Cooperative. Once a Texas public school district joins the cooperative – they can access your products and services without the need to RFP themselves because the Benefits Cooperative has already done that. QUESTION: We are typically fee-based rather than commission-based but can work both ways. May we offer a fee-based approach (if it still includes your 4%)?
Yes, feel free to present whatever you think is fair.
